Prepare insurance claim forms. Maintain stock and keep an accurate inventory of prescription and over the counter medications. Check for expired drugs and disposed as necessary. Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies and enter inventory data into computer. Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and inform supervisors or stock needs and shortages. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Assist pharmacist in training pharmacy interns and new hires. Answer phone calls from physician offices and patients. Call physician offices to obtain new prescriptions and prescription refills. Work with physicians and insurance companies on prior authorizations for patient medications. Prepare dosage medications for dispensing into bottles and unit dose packaging
