Sirius Staffing is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a contract opportunity in Chattanooga, TN. Please contact us today for more information.
Under the general supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists with dispensing non-controlled pharmaceuticals, medications, vaccines, and medical supplies that require a prescription. Services support clinical sites and related public health programs. Key Responsibilities Assist the Pharmacist with receiving, inventory management, and distribution of medications and vaccines Receive and process requests for medications and vaccines from clinical sites Pre-package medications accurately and efficiently for distribution Conduct routine inventories at clinic locations and deliver medications as requested Maintain accurate records, files, and logs in compliance with regulations Enter and update information in computerized database systems for tracking and compliance purposes Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising Pharmacist, within pharmacy or clinic settings Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and protocols related to dispensing pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and devices Knowledge of pharmacy administration policies and procedures Knowledge of recordkeeping and file maintenance practices Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment Knowledge of customer service and public relations practices Familiarity with medication dispensing and common medication names Skill in accurately and safely dispensing over-the-counter and legend medications Skill in written and verbal communication Skill in maintaining and updating electronic databases Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Minimum Qualifications Education and/or work experience equivalent to a Pharmacy Technician certificate Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Pharmacy Technician certification Physical Requirements Ability to stoop, bend, and lift medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds Extensive keyboarding Prolonged sitting with intermittent standing and walking Sirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer. Mon-Fri, 8-4 This position supports rapid and effective response during public health operations and potential emergency situations. All employees are expected to maintain up-to-date contact information and remain accessible in the event of a public health emergency.
