Job Description

Duties:
  • Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications and other healthcare products to patients
  • Prepare and package medications for dispensing
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medication history and allergies
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
  • Verify insurance coverage and process claims
  • Perform inventory management tasks, including ordering and stocking medications and supplies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
  • Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
  • Ability to provide excellent patient service and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
Skills:
  • Pharmacy technician certification or license
  • Understanding of different inhalation devices used for respiratory medications
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and recordkeeping
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
