Job Description
Duties:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications and other healthcare products to patients
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medication history and allergies
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims
- Perform inventory management tasks, including ordering and stocking medications and supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
- Ability to provide excellent patient service and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
Skills:
- Pharmacy technician certification or license
- Understanding of different inhalation devices used for respiratory medications
- Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and recordkeeping
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
