Pharmacy Technician 2 Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will interact with various departments to ensure medications are dispensed accurately and promptly under the supervision of a pharmacist. Your role will involve preparing, counting, labeling, and packaging pharmaceuticals for pharmacist approval, as well as managing inventory and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Responsibilities Interact with departments to accurately dispense medications in a timely manner. Work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Locate correct medication and strength to complete picking of the order. Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for pharmacist approval. Purchase, receive, and coordinate inventory. Maintain and update inventory reports. Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; return or discard as appropriate, completing necessary documentation. Maintain prescription logs. Calibrate equipment and log accordingly. Assist with pharmacy temperature management and cleaning logs, documenting maintenance. Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Follow all policies and standards. Call doctor's offices for necessary information. Perform data entry tasks. Essential Skills Pharmacy technician certification and license. 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience with a strong familiarity with drugs used for chronic or debilitating illnesses. Proficiency in data entry and fulfillment processes. Experience in inventory management and prior authorization. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience with specialty pharmacy or IVIG is preferred. Work Environment The work schedule is from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with no overtime expected. The role involves 90% outbound and 10% inbound tasks, primarily focusing on data entry and communication with healthcare professionals. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
