Responsibilities Prepare compounded medications accurately following prescribed formulas, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Assist pharmacists with medication preparation for LTC, hospital, and acute care patients, including IV infusion compounding. Manage medication intake processes by verifying prescriptions, checking medical terminology, and documenting compounding procedures thoroughly. Maintain a sterile environment by following proper aseptic techniques during medication preparation and handling of sterile products. Support patient service efforts by providing clear communication regarding medication instructions and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to pharmacy operations, medication administration, and medical terminology accuracy. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans and ensure timely delivery of compounded medications. Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience with a focus on compounding or sterile preparations is highly preferred. Experience working in LTC pharmacy, hospital environments, or acute care settings is advantageous. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and IV infusion techniques. Critical care experience or familiarity with complex medication regimens enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Strong understanding of aseptic technique protocols and pharmacy safety standards is essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care are highly valued. Ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
