Job Overview The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists in the delivery of pharmaceutical care and patient services. This position involves working in a fast-paced office environment. The Pharmacy Technician will assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards while providing exceptional patient care. Duties Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Assist in maintaining inventory levels, including ordering and restocking pharmaceuticals and supplies. Utilize aseptic technique when compounding sterile products to ensure patient safety. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient information. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management. Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices within the hospital setting. Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices. Skills Proficiency in aseptic technique for compounding sterile medications. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice. Experience or knowledge in acute care or critical care environments is preferred. Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing processes and safety protocols. Ability to work with insurance companies to assit patients with coverage. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and service within a hospital setting.
