Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract To Hire An established healthcare system with multiple hospitals and home infusion sites is expanding its home infusion service line and seeking an experienced IV/Infusion pharmacy technician to support this growth. This contract-to-hire opportunity is based in Virginia Beach, VA, and offers a structured day-shift schedule to ensure work-life balance. Responsibilities include preparing IVs, TPNs, and other sterile compounded medications under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, maintaining quality assurance in compliance with all legal and departmental standards, and potentially training new staff members. The role also involves participating in clinical initiatives to enhance patient care, along with other sterile compounding and pharmacy technician duties as assigned. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of strong IV/infusion experience, preferably within a home infusion setting. Experience with TPNs and antibiotics is essential, and inpatient IV experience, while acceptable, is secondary. Familiarity with the EPIC system is required for seamless integration into clinical workflows.
Key Qualifications:
Valid VA pharmacy technician license and national certification Minimum two years of IV/infusion experience, including TPNs and antibiotics Proficiency in sterile compounding and quality assurance practices Ability to perform under supervision and contribute to clinical quality improvements Strong communication skills for training and team collaboration
Schedule:
