Job Title:
Pharmacy Technician (Swing shift) Job Description This position is located at a Central Fill pharmacy in Everett, WA, supplying patient-level prescriptions for a large retail national chain. The role involves accurately and efficiently filling prescription requests in a high-volume automated refill setting. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician prepares, packages, and distributes medications in a fast-paced production environment. The technician must maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to meet daily production goals, with acute attention to detail, whether working independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities Manually fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules. Read computer-generated screens to locate indicated merchandise on labeled shelves and verify size and strength. Perform basic mathematical reasoning to count or calculate the appropriate number of units needed to fill prescriptions. Replenish medication in automated dispensing cells to full capacity, opening large quantities of bottles and cases of product. Use a handheld scanner unit to scan barcodes of products, entering expiration and lot information into a computer application. Maintain a high level of focus to avoid cross-contamination and perform quality assurance checks for expired and/or damaged products. Prepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions following special requirements for handling and packing. Assist with packing and shipping of prescriptions. Understand and abide by federal and state HIPAA laws as well as pharmacy standard procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy. Complete weekly cycle counts as assigned, requiring audits of cell inventory and counting products at primary and secondary bin locations. Assist with research and identification of root cause of discrepancies as needed. Essential Skills Active pharmacy technician certification in WA state Prescription refill experience 0-1 year experience in a pharmacy production environment Data entry skills Pharmacy support experience Retail pharmacy experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Must have a PTCB or ExCPT to work longer than 6 months (national license/certification) Demonstrated problem resolution skills with the ability to recognize, address, and escalate issues to management Work Environment This role operates during the
EVENING/SWING SHIFT
Monday-Thursday from 2pm to 10:30pm, and Sunday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. The position requires availability for mandatory overtime, which is regular and often up to 1 hour, occasionally 2 hours following a major US holiday. The work environment is fast-paced and team-oriented with a focus on safety. The atmosphere involves high-volume pick, pack, and ship operations. The team regularly celebrates their successes and strives to be best-in-class for pharmacy operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
