4Job Summary:
Following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern 1 performs technical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual may receive, sort, compound, processes and prepares medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Accepted to a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution or enrolled in their first year of a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution.TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Must complete a competency checklist within three months of completing orientation and training sessions.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION
Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
