Job Description

PRN position- This role will be on a weekend rotation (every 3rd weekend) and coverage for vacations, etc. To assist the pharmacist-in-charge in the preparation and delivery of medications, charging and crediting patients accounts, ordering of supplies from drug wholesalers, preparation of IVs, monthly unit inspections, and in any other way as deemed necessary by the Director of Pharmacy. Pharmacy technicians or supportive personnel shall work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The supervising pharmacist must be fully aware of, and responsible for, all drug-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Comply with facility and pharmacy policies and procedures and all federal, state, and local laws. 2. Accurately and in a timely manner fills medication orders and delivers medications after pharmacist has checked them.•3. Performs aspects of patient care within the scope of a pharmacy technician in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medication errors. 4. Complies with policy and procedures when issuing requisition drugs to other hospital departments. Maintains appropriate records and charges of requisition drugs as directed. 5. Demonstrates the ability to maintain appropriate inventory levels •6. Provides pharmaceutical care in age-appropriate manner within the scope of a pharmacy technician. 7. Performs other duties as assigned.•
