Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Obtain quality specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining complete confidentiality. Positively identify patients and healthcare workers for laboratory operations. Support the laboratory in its routine functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy Certificate from ASCP Board of Certification preferred. One year of work experience in a clinical setting preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications or equivalent (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Exemplary customer service skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The primary work area for this position is the Phlebotomy Room of the BBAHC Laboratory. The employee may be exposed to patients with communicable diseases and specimens that may contain infectious agents. Must be able to see, hear, speak, walk, sit, bend, kneel, and lift and carry up to 20 pounds without accommodation. May require travel to villages in small, unpressurized aircraft.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 6:30am- 3:30pm. Attendance in accordance with the BBAHC Attendance policy is a job requirement.
