Full-Time | Evening Shift | Wednesday-Tuesday | 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Phlebotomist II for a 3-month contract in Birmingham, AL. This position is ideal for candidates with 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a hospital setting. The role involves performing blood collections, laboratory support duties, patient interaction, and working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Complete approximately 30-50 blood draws per shift while ensuring specimen quality and patient safety.

Perform inpatient rounds and specimen collection.

Stock laboratory supplies and maintain inventory.

Assist with front desk and patient registration responsibilities as needed.

Accurately label specimens and document collections using Cerner.

Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and laboratory safety guidelines.

Deliver excellent patient care and maintain professionalism.

Work independently during the assigned evening shift. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.

Previous hospital phlebotomy experience preferred.

Experience with both pediatric and geriatric patients.

Ability to perform 30-50 blood draws per shift.

Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Work Environment Hospital outpatient/IOP (OBGYN) setting.

Independent work environment.

Frequent walking throughout the shift.

One week of system training followed by hands-on training. Required Immunizations Hepatitis B
