Job Description
Overview The Lab Assistant will collect and handle a variety of patient specimens from individuals of all ages with professionalism, compassion, and attention to patient comfort. Phlebotomy certification and/or relevant patient care experience is preferred. The Lab Assistant will also process specimens, ensuring they are properly prepared for testing, pickup, transport, or shipment. Clinic hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am
- 5:30pm.
Responsibilities:
Assist in collecting samples, checking in patients, and other phlebotomy area duties. This duty is performed as needed Take telephone messages and responds appropriately. Deliver, telephone, or fax reports. This duty is performed daily. Process and prepare samples for Home Health, shipping, add-ons, and storage. This duty is performed daily. Scan and maintain files of appropriate laboratory documents. This duty is performed daily. Be proficient in working with appropriate computer applications. This duty is performed daily.Qualifications:
Current phlebotomy certification is desirable.
