Job Description

Responsibilities:
Preparing patients before drawing blood Collect blood samples from patients Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly Accurately updating patient information in the organization's database Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
Skills:
Previous experience in a phlebotomist role Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
Requirements:
Valid phlebotomy certificate in CA Maintain company loyalty, proactively support and practice company mission, vision and values. Maintain confidentiality at all times in compliance with company policy and HIPAA requirements. Know and follow Employee Handbook guidelines, policies and procedures. Be flexible and adaptable with the ability to be cross trained to cover other departmental areas simultaneously. Ability to be flexible and adaptable with changes in process and procedures. Ability to work in a multi-task, moderate stress environment. Ability to manage a heavy workload with frequent interruptions and changing priorities in a fast paced environment. Completes assignments within specified time lines. Communicate verbally and in writing through appropriate channels. Participate in staff meetings Adhere to attendance policy, notify supervisor in writing when requesting time off in timely manner according to policies. Be courteous and promote professionalism. Know and follow safety standards. Follow established departmental dress code. Communicate verbally and in writing through appropriate channels.
