Job Description

At NorthBay Health, the Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Outpaitient, collects, receives, processes and distributes laboratory specimens and facilitates the flow of information into and out of the lab by interacting with the public, using designated computer systems, delivering reports and answering phones. Performs general CPT duties including faxing, filing. Functions as part of a clerical, clinical, and customer service team in support of laboratory services. This position will support new clinic in Green Valley, Fairfield ,
CA Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Licensure:
Must meet and maintain current State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
Experience:
One year of clinical healthcare experience or recent training through an approved CPT program preferred. Medical Assistant certification highly preferred.
Skills:
Basic medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills. Strong organizational and written and spoken communication skills essential. Experience with medical record processes preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently on a variety of complex tasks, managing competing deadlines Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal.
