Per completed mobile visit + mileage reimbursement Job Overview LabConcierge is seeking an experienced and professional Mobile Phlebotomist to provide mobile specimen collection services in patient homes, assisted living facilities, offices, and concierge healthcare settings throughout Los Angeles County. This role requires strong knowledge of phlebotomy procedures, specimen handling, laboratory processing requirements, requisition form review, and safe specimen transport practices. Candidates must be able to work independently while maintaining strict compliance with California regulations, OSHA standards, HIPAA requirements, and laboratory protocols. Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection according to California scope of practice and laboratory standards
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers prior to specimen collection
  • Properly label, process, package, and transport specimens to Quest Diagnostics
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of:
  • Blood tube types/additives
  • Order of draw
  • Minimum specimen volume requirements
  • Centrifuge/spin requirements
  • Blood culture collection procedures
  • Timed and fasting specimens
  • Specimen stability and temperature handling
  • Review requisition forms for completeness and accuracy before collection
  • Ensure provider information, ICD-10 codes, patient demographics, and ordered tests are properly documented
  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and biohazard transport guidelines
  • Maintain professionalism and accurate documentation during all patient encounters
  • Communicate appropriately with providers, laboratories, and patients regarding scheduling and specimen collection logistics only Important Compliance Requirements
  • All laboratory orders must originate from a licensed authorized provider
  • Mobile Phlebotomists may not independently diagnose, interpret laboratory results, prescribe treatment, or order laboratory testing unless separately authorized under applicable California licensure
  • Employees/contractors are responsible only for specimen collection and transport within legal scope of practice
  • All specimens must be transported in accordance with laboratory and California biohazard transport regulations Qualifications
  • Active California CPT-1 or CPT-2 License required
  • Minimum 5-6 years phlebotomy experience preffered
  • Experience with Quest Diagnostics and/or Labcorp specimen handling required
  • Strong understanding of laboratory specimen processing requirements
  • Excellent venipuncture and difficult draw skills
  • Reliable transportation and valid California driver's license
  • Current auto insurance required
  • Current BLS certification preferred Insurance & Liability Requirements
  • Independent contractors must maintain their own active professional liability insurance and automobile insurance coverage
  • LabConcierge maintains business liability coverage; however, contractors are responsible for maintaining any legally required individual coverage applicable to their role
  • All staff must comply with company policies, laboratory procedures, and applicable California laws and regulations Compensation
  • Paid per completed mobile patient visit ( can be discussed during interview)
  • Mileage reimbursement provided in accordance with current IRS and California reimbursement guidelines
