Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and accuracy standards.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing promptly and correctly to ensure quality results.
• Explain procedures to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
• Perform daily tasks independently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of assigned duties.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a professional environment in the clinical setting.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors by promoting process excellence and confidentiality. Required Skills
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws.
• Ability to perform quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain procedures clearly.
• Experience with keyboard and data entry tasks related to specimen processing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; in California, Nevada, and Washington, certification is required.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of related work experience; more than one year of phlebotomy experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Good interpersonal skills to ensure patient comfort and safety.
