Full Job Description Job Summary Full-time Position Shift Schedule:
7:30am-4:30pm, Lunch 12pm-1pm. IHDLab is seeking a skilled, professional, and customer-focused Phlebotomist to join our team. This role is responsible for performing blood draws, specimen collection, and proper specimen handling while also supporting a positive patient and client experience. The ideal candidate is experienced in phlebotomy and comfortable communicating with partner clinics, physician offices, patients, and internal teams. This position serves as an important connection between our laboratory, patients, and clients to help ensure smooth daily operations, accurate specimen collection, and strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities Phlebotomy and Patient Care Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and other specimen collection procedures accurately and professionally. Ensure specimens are properly labeled, handled, processed, and transported according to company procedures and regulatory standards. Provide a comfortable and respectful patient experience by explaining procedures and answering basic questions. Follow all applicable safety, infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and company compliance requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe collection area. Client and Account Support Serve as a professional point of contact for partner clinics, physician offices, and other healthcare providers. Support positive client relationships through timely communication, updates, and assistance. Help resolve client or patient concerns by escalating issues to the appropriate internal team when needed. Monitor client-specific needs, including collection requirements, supplies, workflow expectations, and service issues. Work closely with business development, laboratory operations, and client support teams to support service excellence. Assist with client onboarding and provide guidance on proper specimen collection, labeling, packaging, and submission procedures. Administrative and Operational Duties Maintain accurate patient, specimen, and client documentation in accordance with company procedures. Track supplies and inventory, and coordinate supply requests to ensure collection kits and materials are available. Support quality control by identifying errors, delays, or workflow concerns and reporting them promptly. Assist with process improvements to support a better patient, provider, and client experience. Follow company policies regarding attendance, communication, confidentiality, and professional conduct. Required Qualifications Current Phlebotomy Certification, such as CPT, RPT, or equivalent, required. Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical, laboratory, physician office, or similar healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of specimen collection, labeling, handling, processing, and safety procedures. Experience providing professional customer service in a healthcare or patient-facing environment. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diagnostic laboratories, physician offices, mobile phlebotomy, or patient service centers. Experience supporting client accounts, provider offices, or healthcare partners. Knowledge of laboratory test ordering, specimen requirements, insurance, billing, or reimbursement processes. Bilingual skills are a plus. Skills and Competencies Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with patients, clients, and team members.
