Responsibilities Draw blood samples from patients, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures Identify and verify patient demographic information, including labeling specimens accurately and in the presence of the patient Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activities Create a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly to patients and addressing any concerns Follow safety protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and organizational policies Support the daily operations of patient service or in-office phlebotomy locations Perform specimen processing and handling in compliance with established practices and procedures Assist with maintaining a safe and professional environment at all times Required Skills Ability to perform high-quality, error-free phlebotomy in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and record-keeping skills Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members Proficient in data entry and keyboarding Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision Competency in venipuncture and capillary collections, including pediatric and geriatric populations Additional Skills & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections Experience working in a patient service center environment is desirable Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, including travel between multiple locations Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record if applicable Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in supporting patient health and ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
