Work Environment This is an on-call, per diem hospital-based phlebotomy role in a fast-paced inpatient laboratory environment. You primarily support inpatient units, including pediatrics, ICU, and other high-acuity areas, and may also work in medical office buildings and multiple hospital campuses in the surrounding region. Hours vary and can include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, as well as weekends and holidays. You will complete a full training period on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, at a single location for the first few weeks before transitioning to on-call status. After training, supervisors and schedulers contact you to offer available shifts, and you may have opportunities to pick up additional hours at various hospital and medical office locations. The position was created to support increased patient volume and the need for additional coverage, offering a strong opportunity to get your foot in the door with a large, well-established healthcare system.
