Responsibilities:
Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing ensuring accuracy and proper labeling to maintain specimen integrity. Create a welcoming and trusting environment for patients by explaining procedures clearly and professionally. Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all samples and procedures performed. Adhere to safety and confidentiality standards to ensure a secure and compliant work environment. Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a commitment to quality care at all times. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient experiences.
Required Skills:
Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric specimen collection. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient keyboard and data entry skills to accurately document procedures. Exceptional customer service skills to foster positive interactions with patients and staff. Ability to perform high-quality, error-free work in a demanding environment. Nice to
Have Skills:
Medical assistant or paramedic training. Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington). Experience working in retail or service environments with direct patient interaction.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.
Other Requirements:
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Availability for weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime shifts as needed.
Certifications:
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states). Physical ability to perform blood draws and move equipment as necessary.
