ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collects blood samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
  • Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
  • Collection of blood from surrounding nursing facilities.
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering samples from offices to the laboratory.
  • Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
  • Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
  • Maintains needed equipment and supplies.
  • Orients and mentors new staff members and students.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Along with patient collection and obtaining specimens for processing, you'll pack, ship and prepare specimens to be sent to references labs.
  • Provide additional help in other areas of the laboratory including answering phones and general customer service
  • Ability to float to Hospital, Redlands or Fruita office draw station for coverage as needed.
  • Ability to perform work that requires occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting, Frequent standing, walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion, lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Competently operate Laboratory Information System (LIS) EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION and
EXPERIENCE
1. Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2. Licenses No Professional License required. 3. Certifications Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited agency (ex. ASCP) preferred. 4. Experience 1 year related experience required. Experienced with pediatric blood collection required. Completion of and approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent) Wage starts at $19.00 plus 15% for PRN and goes up based on experience Position open until filled Immunizations required for employment including flu vaccine FHW offers a full benefits package including:
