Responsibilities Draw blood samples from patients of various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric individuals, following established procedures Prepare specimens accurately for lab testing Provide patient care in a professional and compassionate manner, building trust and confidence Maintain detailed records and documentation of specimen collection and processing Ensure a safe and professional environment for patients and staff Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence and confidentiality Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time Required Skills Excellent phlebotomy skills, with experience in pediatric and geriatric specimen collection Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and record-keeping skills Effective communication skills to explain procedures and build rapport with patients Keyboard/data entry experience Additional Skills & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington A minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred Must have reliable transportation and be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime Ability to work independently, demonstrate punctuality, and stay for entire scheduled shifts; excessive tardiness or absenteeism is cause for termination Home city and commute time within 20-25 minutes of the worksite must be listed on the resume Working as a Phlebotomist offers the chance to enhance your skills while contributing directly to patient health.
