Professionally perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring safety and comfort. Draw accurate and high-quality specimens, adhering strictly to established procedures and safety standards. Verify patient demographic information and initials, ensuring tubes are properly labeled in the patients' presence to maintain specimen integrity. Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all collections, including signatures and demographic details. Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to foster a trusting and positive environment. Travel between multiple testing sites or patient homes as required, demonstrating reliability and punctuality. Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and infection control practices. Adapt to flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, to meet staffing and patient needs. Promote a positive image of the organization through professionalism, courtesy, and exceptional customer service.Required Skills:
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Strong proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure specimen accuracy and compliance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and patient confidentiality. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record. Basic computer and data entry skills for documentation purposes. Flexibility to travel between multiple sites and work varied hours, including weekends and holidays. Nice toHave Skills:
Medical assistant, paramedic, or related healthcare training. Certification in phlebotomy from an accredited program. Experience working in a Patient Service Center or similar clinical environment. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification in phlebotomy strongly preferred; licenses or registrations required in specific states such as California, Nevada, and Washington. Prior experience in high-volume, fast-paced settings, especially in mobile or outpatient environments.Other Requirements:
Schedule flexibility, including availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical ability to perform blood draws, including standing for extended periods and handling patients with care. Reliable, personal transportation capable of traveling between multiple sites with mileage reimbursement. Adherence to all safety and infection control policies, including proper use of PPE.
