What You'll Do:
Travel to multiple healthcare sites, patient homes, or clinical locations to perform blood draws in accordance with established procedures. Draw high-quality, error-free blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations. Verify patient identities by initialing labels in their presence post-venipuncture, ensuring specimen labeling accuracy. Explain procedures to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and comfort while demonstrating professionalism. Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities, including demographic verification and specimen handling. Follow all safety protocols and confidentiality policies, ensuring a secure and respectful environment. Assist with specimen processing and transportation, ensuring specimens are prepared correctly for laboratory testing. Adapt to changing schedules and locations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and reliability. What You Bring to the
Role:
Minimum 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Valid phlebotomy certification (preferred but not mandatory); training as a medical assistant or paramedic is a plus. Strong skills in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and specimen handling. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple site visits efficiently. Dependable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Ability to adhere to policies, dress code, and safety guidelines. Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, as needed. Comfort with travel and a proactive attitude toward maintaining punctuality across multiple sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment. Knowledge of medical data entry and specimen processing systems. Previous experience working with diverse patient populations, including children and seniors. Ability to submit mileage expenses for travel between sites.
Other Requirements:
Reliable personal transportation to reach various clinical locations reliably. Must be flexible with scheduling and respond promptly to staffing needs. Physical ability to perform blood draws, stand for extended periods, and lift or move supplies as necessary. Compliance with all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
