Description:
Is proficient at 98% of venipunctue attempts. Assures that specimen collected is appropriate to test required (collect tube, amount of blood) Follows protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times. Understands consequence of deviation from protocol. Takes a leadership role in orientation and training of new Associates and students. Demonstrates consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants and children as well as adults. Performs all collections in timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment , ie syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, blood culture equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required To be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy program and/or have a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital To have excellent customer service skills.
