Having proficient skills in customer care, drawing blood, and working with EMR systems is a must for this role. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Responsible for aiding physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, keeping medical records, helping and examining patients, and performing routine office duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares patients for examination or treatment by checking and recording blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight. Asks patients about their medical histories and records answers in the patient file. Prepares examining rooms for patients, arranging medical instruments for the examination. A basic understanding of ICD10 Coding Straightens and sterilizes the examining room after each examination, disposing of used linens and supplies and sterilizing instruments. Prepares patients for laboratory examinations, administers electrocardiograms. Instructs patients about taking medications, improving their diet or monitoring their activities before labs. Keeps examination rooms stocked with medical supplies and informs when supplies are needed. Performs administrative tasks as necessary, keeping files and records up-to-date, making phone calls, and performing patient correspondence. Answers telephone calls, greets visitors, handles verifying patient information, performs general office duties, and furnishes clerical support for the office staff. Schedules and registers patients in a friendly and professional manner; registers all patients in EMR; verifies insurance, payer information, and collects patient charges when necessary Coordinates with the Office Manager for substituting during any absences or breaks. English, Creole, and Spanish speakers preferred. Best if Multilingual This job may require visiting our MIAMI office occasionally. If there are issues with travel please do not apply.
