What You Will Do:
Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling and documentation according to established procedures. Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to ensure specimen integrity. Provide excellent customer service by explaining procedures clearly and fostering an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards to uphold a professional environment. Accurately record all relevant information and ensure specimen handling complies with regulatory and safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and adapt to staffing needs across multiple locations. Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a commitment to confidentiality and precision.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, with expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Strong proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and accuracy in labels, records, and documentation. Physical ability to perform blood draws and handle specimen processing. Keyboard and data entry skills to maintain accurate digital records. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, across multiple locations. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record preferred if travel is required.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training is a plus. Phlebotomy certification is preferred, especially in states such as California, Nevada, and Washington. Bilingual skills, particularly Korean language proficiency, are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations. Experience in customer service within retail or service environments enhances your candidacy.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certified or trained Medical Assistant or Paramedic background is advantageous. Prior experience in a Patient Service Center or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
Other Requirements:
Valid in-state certification or licensing for phlebotomy as required by state regulations. Ability to travel between various locations as needed. Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and company policies. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume setting. Physical stamina for standing, bending, and drawing blood multiple times daily.
