Job Description
Position Overview Gooseberry Research is seeking an experienced Mobile Phlebotomist to support in-home clinical research visits. This is a PRN, as-needed contract role with no guaranteed hours. Assignments are offered based on study needs, participant location, and candidate availability. Participants may include pediatric, adolescent, or adult patients depending on the study. Applicants must be comfortable performing pediatric blood draws when required. Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-home venipuncture and study-required specimen collection, including pediatric blood draws when assigned.
- Follow study-specific instructions for collection tubes, draw order, timing, labeling, handling, and storage.
- Process samples as required, including centrifugation, aliquoting, packaging, and shipment preparation after study training.
- Complete accurate visit documentation and communicate collection, processing, or scheduling issues promptly.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and follow study instructions, HIPAA, and applicable clinical research requirements. Required Qualifications
- Current nationally recognized phlebotomy certification, such as
NHA CPT, ASCP PBT, AMT
RPT, NCCT, or equivalent.- Must meet all applicable state-specific requirements to perform phlebotomy in the state where the visit is assigned.
- Strong venipuncture experience, including pediatric blood draw experience or demonstrated pediatric competency.
- Experience with specimen handling and willingness to learn study-specific sample processing requirements.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for home-based visits within the assigned service area.
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and communicate professionally with study teams. Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical research experience.
- Mobile phlebotomy, home health, rare disease, or medically complex patient experience.
- Experience using centrifuge, processing specimens, and preparing laboratory shipments.
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability.
