Job Description

Actively Interviewing for Phlebotomist II to join top diagnostic client in Conyers, GA! Job Description As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining data records, and ensuring compliance with decontamination protocols. You will work closely with patients to explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures, using techniques such as straight or butterfly needles, and ensure accurate matching of laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Responsibilities Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly to patients. Demonstrate proficient use of straight and butterfly needles. Comprehend and execute physicians' orders accurately. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures. Ensure specimens are placed in appropriate collection containers and accurately labeled. Follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department training sessions. Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills At least 3+ years of recent phlebotomy experience in outpatient or clinical settings. Proficiency in venipuncture and blood draw techniques. Experience working with patients across all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics. High School Diploma or GED. Strong customer service skills. Experience with processing specimens and handling 30+ patient draws per day. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of phlebotomy techniques and protocols. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently. Work Environment The position is based in a LabCorp IOP at Medlife Primary and Urgent Care. The role operates from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The work environment is fast-paced and demands a highly skilled and experienced individual to maintain the high standards required. You will need to have strong phlebotomy knowledge to succeed in this role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conyers, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
