Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy & Lab Specialist to support the receipt, handling, and organization of reagent blood products (red cells and platelets) used in manufacturing. This role will also be responsible for coordinating and performing phlebotomy for in-house donors while ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Receive and log blood products from external facilities, ensuring proper documentation and delivery of segments for testing per SOPs Organize, track, and reconcile blood product inventory within refrigeration units to ensure optimal utilization Perform phlebotomy on in-house donors in accordance with established protocols Develop and manage weekly donor schedules, including outreach, confirmations, and backfill of cancellations Support distribution of collected samples to designated laboratories Maintain and monitor department equipment in compliance with operational standards Manage phlebotomy inventory and coordinate supply ordering as needed Assist with shipment and transport of samples and blood units to internal and external locations Provide support with special projects and cross-functional tasks as assigned Accurately complete documentation within required timeframes in accordance with cGMP guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment Meet established competency and performance standards Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and follow direction from leadership Adhere strictly to HIPAA, OSHA, and safety protocols, including bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards Maintain working knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards and understand the impact of noncompliance Cross-Functional Collaboration This role partners closely with: Manufacturing & Production Quality Control & Quality Assurance Customer Service Shipping & Logistics Sales & Marketing Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 2+ years of phlebotomy experience required Prior laboratory experience required Phlebotomy certification preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Access a plus Skills & Competencies Strong ability to read, interpret, and follow SOPs, safety protocols, and technical documentation Effective written communication for documentation and reporting Solid mathematical and analytical skills (ratios, percentages, standard lab calculations) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to problem-solve within structured environments and standardized processes Ability to follow written, verbal, and visual instructions with accuracy Work Environment This position operates in a laboratory/manufacturing setting and requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
