Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture and collecting blood samples from patients while ensuring a high level of patient care and comfort. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and physiology to ensure accurate sample collection and processing. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. Adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during blood collection. Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, including labeling and proper storage. Maintain accurate records of patient information and laboratory procedures. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient service and care. Assist in the training of new staff in laboratory techniques and procedures as needed. Follow all hospital protocols regarding infection control and safety measures. Provide excellent patient service by addressing any concerns or questions related to the blood collection process. Requirements Proven experience in phlebotomy or a related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment used in blood collection. Familiarity with physiology knowledge relevant to blood sampling and patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and care. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in phlebotomy or completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program is highly desirable. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in venipuncture and other laboratory techniques relevant to the role.
