Additional Information About the Role Alton Memorial Hospital has a PRN Lab Associate I opportunity. Looking for a lab tech with phlebotomy experience to work in a hospital setting. PRN (as-needed) team members are expected to work on an as-needed basis. Must be available to work a minimum of four (4) shifts within an eight-week period. Must work at least one (1) weekend shift during each six-week scheduling period. Must work a minimum of one (1) recognized holiday per calendar year. Come join the BJC Team today! Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection. Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
