We're looking for a motivated and dependable Phlebotomist/Lab Technician who wants to be part of a growing business and make a meaningful contribution every day. This position will initially be scheduled 2-3 days per week, working closely with our Lab Manager/Lead Technician in a collaborative team environment. As our business continues to grow, additional hours and a full-time opportunity may become available. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, learning new skills, and taking on a variety of responsibilities in a professional, customer-focused environment. In addition to phlebotomy, you'll have the opportunity to learn and perform a wide range of services including drug and alcohol testing, DNA testing, fingerprinting, workplace testing, and other related services. ARCpoint Labs of Libertyville is part of a growing network of independent franchises providing drug and alcohol testing, DNA testing, background screening, workplace compliance services, and personal health and wellness testing. Our mission is to provide innovative, accessible health and wellness insights and solutions for individuals, businesses, and communities. The Lab Technician is responsible for performing client services they are legally qualified to handle and supporting the daily operations of the laboratory.
Duties include:
All testing collection processes for drug, alcohol, DNA tests, background screenings, fingerprinting, clinical testing, and blood draws Perform observed and unobserved urine collections Perform occasional after-hours testing and collections on-site at various workplaces as directed Continuous professional development and training within all relevant job functions Certification training for federally mandated Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing, and qualification in all other areas of Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing Perform front office duties, including answering phones, checking email and voicemail, and processing payments Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing supplies Perform basic cleaning to comply with lab protocol Perform other administrative duties as needed Required Skills Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Program, with demonstrated excellence in medical terminology, anatomy, and venipuncture Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to relate to clients and co-workers Ability to treat all clients in a courteous and professional manner Adherence to all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures Demonstrated high personal standards of honesty and integrity Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision Professional attitude in manner and appearance, and observance of client confidentiality Demonstrated professional competence in blood draws for a wide variety of clients with minimal bruising, sticks, rejections, or customer complaints Ability to communicate with clients regarding the company's testing services and help guide them to appropriate testing options Ability to occasionally work after hours and weekends (scheduled or emergency) Stay current in drug, alcohol, and clinical testing services through ongoing training Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software and web-based platforms Valid driver's license Bilingual in Spanish preferred May be required to complete a drug screen and background check
