Are you a compassionate, friendly healthcare professional with a passion for patient care looking to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients? Illinois CancerCare is seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to join our dedicated clinical team.
Pay & Benefits Pay Range :

Perks Program Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Perform routine phlebotomy procedures according to established procedures and policies. Follow assigned schedule and work procedures. Collect, receive, identify, and label specimens following quality assurance and safety policies. Collect specimens for off-site testing and research. Perform port draws and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures as needed. Perform Glucometer testing and accurately record patient results and QC each day of use. Organize and prioritize multiple work needs/duties. Clean and maintain work areas. Monitor supply inventory. Work additional hours as requested. Communicate effectively with office staff, patients, physicians, and external contacts. Travel to outside clinics as needed or requested. Perform all other duties as requested or required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma required One year of phlebotomy experience ASCP or other approved professional association certification preferred Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification preferred Preferred Skills Skilled in both straight sticks and butterfly draws Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport with patients in a clinical setting Previous hospital or oncology experience is a plus

Physical demands of this job typically require full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination in operation and manipulation of complex laboratory equipment. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time with the use hands to finger, handle, or feel and arms to reach or carry. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision, color perception and hearing to normal range. Requires legible handwriting.
