Overview Temp Phlebotomist needed for May 19 and July 13-Aug 10 We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Temp Phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. This role involves performing blood collection and specimen processing with precision, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and laboratory safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory techniques, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and excellent patient service skills. Duties Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques, adhering strictly to aseptic procedures. Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper labeling and handling. Monitor and record vital signs when necessary, providing comprehensive patient care during specimen collection. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards. Assist in verifying patient identity and medical information to ensure specimen integrity. Support laboratory staff by performing routine tasks such as inventory management of supplies and equipment calibration. Follow all hospital and laboratory procedures related to specimen collection, processing, and documentation. Communicate effectively with patients to provide reassurance, explain procedures, and address any concerns professionally. Qualifications Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting or hospital environment is highly preferred. Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection methods including venipuncture. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to blood sampling. Demonstrated ability to perform blood sampling accurately while maintaining patient comfort. Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices. Strong understanding of vital signs measurement and basic patient care principles. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and sample handling. Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
