Job Description

Overview The Supervisor of Phlebotomy is a hands on position for the day to day supervision and oversight of phlebotomy operations both inside and outside the main facility. The position will be a working position as required due to staffing deficiencies daily. Responsibilities Management of daily operations and coverage within the medical center confirming that specimens are collected properly and in a timely manner. Management of coverage of various clinics outside the medical facility confirming and training when necessary staff in these areas to be able to register and verify insurance coverage prior to sending specimens to the medical center for processing. Ensuring that all staff are trained in their respective areas so that continuous flow of specimens is maintained to the satisfaction of medical staff both inside and outside the facility. This will involve periodic visits with physician practices to confirm that their needs are being met. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all phlebotomy staff meet annual requirements for their positions based on accredidation and ARH policies. This will also require that annual competency files are kept updated and meet ARH system guidelines. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent Phlebotomy Certification required Minimum Work Experience 2+ years' experience Previous supervisory experience preferred Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Basic computer capabilities Communication Skills Training and demonstration of high acuity problem skills
