If you love helping patients, staying organized, and being part of a fast paced, supportive team… we want to meet you! You would be responsible for providing skilled phlebotomy in the Springfield, MA area nursing homes. Collects and processes blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures for clinical laboratory testing to ensure accurate lab results that will assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin site, and performs venipuncture and skin puncture according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for analysis. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.- Must have dependable transportation.
What you will do:
Receives assignments, obtains required supplies and equipment necessary to carry out task while servicing area nursing homes. Drives personal vehicle to travel to client locations and SPHS facilities. Completes appropriate mileage forms on a daily/weekly basis.Work Hours/Shift:
40 hours, Day Shift, 4:00 am - 12:30 pm, e/o weekend & rotating holidays.Requirements :
High school or GED. Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred. Technical training in Phlebotomy Program, 1 year of experience, preferred. Strong interpersonal skills; strong phlebotomy skills. Adaptability and flexibility necessary for work schedule and patient care requirements. Good command of the English language and medical terminology.
