At least 3 years of experience (elderly and pediatrics) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Phlebotomist / Program Specialist to support an oncology office in Greenbelt, MD. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing patient blood draws, specimen processing, and data entry while providing excellent customer service in a busy office environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including experience working with elderly and pediatric patients, strong customer service skills, and experience with data entry and specimen processing. Oncology experience is preferred and highly valued. The position will work as part of a team with two additional Patient Service Technicians (PSTs) and will perform approximately 30+ patient draws per day. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and patient blood draws, averaging 30+ draws per day. Provide phlebotomy services for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Work with patients in an oncology office environment. Properly identify patients and ensure accurate specimen collection and labeling. Process and handle specimens according to established procedures. Complete accurate and timely data entry related to patient and specimen information. Provide professional and compassionate customer service to patients. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all applicable safety, infection-control, and specimen-handling procedures. Work effectively as part of a team with two additional PSTs. Remain on your feet and active throughout the workday as required by patient volume and workflow. May provide coverage at the next building/PSC on some days, as needed. Required Qualifications At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience. Experience drawing blood from elderly and pediatric patients. Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills. Experience with data entry. Experience with specimen processing. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work in a busy office setting with 30+ patient draws per day. Professional, dependable, and patient-focused approach. Ability to work onsite in Greenbelt, MD. Preferred Qualifications Oncology office experience strongly preferred. Experience working with oncology patients. Strong customer service background. Experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC), physician office, or similar clinical setting. Experience handling high-volume patient flow. Familiarity with laboratory specimen processing and related documentation. Phlebotomy certification, if available. Work Environment Onsite office-based phlebotomy environment. Works alongside two additional PSTs. Approximately 30+ blood draws per day. Candidate will stand and remain active throughout the day, though not continuously all day. May occasionally work at the next building/PSC. Training Approximately 3 weeks of training may be required at the beginning of the assignment. Training will take place at the same Greenbelt location. Travel No regular travel is required. Candidate may be asked to work at the next building/PSC on some days. Vaccination Requirements No vaccinations required. Important Considerations Candidates may be disqualified from consideration if they do not have sufficient experience for the oncology office environment or lack the required customer service experience.
