  • Position Summary The Outpatient Phlebotomy Technician
  • Floatinteracts with patients and other health-care providers to collect, transport and/or process blood and other body fluids from a full spectrum of the patient population.
He/she performs EKG procedures in conjunction with the Department of Cardiology. He/she participates in educational and training activities and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

  • Position Requirements Education Successful completion of an approved training program consisting of both lectures and practical application in phlebotomy or comparable education or experience.
Will be trained in house to perform EKG functions. Experience One year's experience performing similar duties preferred. Should have good typing skills. Outpatient Phlebotomy Technician-Float Work Schedule Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or have a rotational schedule, and should be flexible to appropriately staff the department. Rotational coverage of weekends and holidays. Expected to work overtime, extended shifts, and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.
