Would you like to have evenings, weekends & many holidays off? Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM . This person will float to various locations in the metro area as business needs require. In this role, the employee will: Perform Phlebotomist duties, including but not limited to: enter lab orders in EMR, check insurance before draw to ensure specimens are sent to the appropriate lab, draw specimens & process for transport to external lab, monitor & maintain lab/injection schedule & field patient phone calls regarding labs. Perform some Medical Assistant duties, including but not limited to: rooming patients, taking vitals, administering injections & fielding phone calls. Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Phlebotomy training & certification required; current CPR or BLS certification required; strong phlebotomy skills required; 1+ year experience working as a Phlebotomist required; MA experience a plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow processes/procedures & carry out detailed written or oral multi-step instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience using Microsoft Office software, email & internet; and have the ability to learn new systems/software relevant to the job. Experience maintaining Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, sit, stand, reach, twist, push/pull, carry, lift & use fingers/hands/wrists to handle, control, & feel objects/tools/controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds & be able to safely support partial & full weight of a patient if necessary. The employee must be able to operate computer, phone & other equipment & frequently communicate & exchange accurate information in person, as well as on the phone & computer. This job requires the ability to see details at close & far distances & the ability to hear & distinguish the difference between sounds.
