Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
  • Drawing blood (must have active phlebotomy license/certificate)
  • Taking medical histories Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examination Assisting the physician during exams Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens (urine specimens/flu swabs/strep swabs/ COVID swabs, etc ) Performing basic laboratory tests Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician Transmitting prescription refills as directed performing electrocardiograms
Phlebotomist Skills and Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for medical visit in examination room
  • Verify patient information by briefly interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
  • Perform preliminary tests
  • take vitals, weight, temperature; perform EKG when necessary
  • phlebotomy experience a plus
  • perform COVID testing; collect other specimens for lab testing (e.g. urine samples, flu swabs, strep tests)
  • Vaccination experience (flu, hepatitis B, TdaP, etc)
  • input correct diagnosis in EMR
  • assist physicians with exams and procedures
  • call or fax prescriptions to pharmacies
  • change dressings
  • clean and maintain instruments and medical equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multitask
  • prior experience of EMR, competency using computer systems, and software Front desk duties: Ensures the highest level of customer service and patient satisfaction to patients.
Competency in patient scheduling, reception duties, medical record preparation, clinic statistics and report compilation, data collection and dissemination, regarding but not limited to patient demographics and third party payers, and all other necessary clerical and office functions. Obtain authorizations for patients when necessary
