Phlebotomist - Cape Regional
Shift:
11P-7A - WEEKENDS and
HOLIDAYS ARE REQUIRED
During this assignment period, there are two holidays (July 4 and Labor Day). One agency staff member can be scheduled to work July 4, and the other can be scheduled for Labor Day.
For weekends, the expectation is every other weekend on a rotating basis. However, agency staff will be scheduled on alternating weekends, so they will not be assigned to work the same weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages
- Collect specimens in ED and inpatient units based on priority
- Ensure positive patient identification and accurate labeling at bedside
- Handle and transport specimens per laboratory policy
- Communicate effectively with nursing and lab staff regarding issues or delays

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year recent hospital-based phlebotomy experience (required)
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume overnight setting
- Strong communication skills_______________________________
Preferred
- National phlebotomy certification
- Prior ED experience
