What You Will Do:
Draw high-quality blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring safety and comfort. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures, accurately labeling samples and verifying patient identities to uphold confidentiality and accuracy. Interact directly with patients, creating a trusting atmosphere by clearly explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and demonstrating empathy. Maintain precise documentation of all collections and interactions, adhering to confidentiality and regulatory standards. Assist with specimen processing and provide support in various clinical settings, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy locations. Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, professional environment that promotes patient confidence and team cohesion. Flexibly support staffing needs, including covering weekends, holidays, and multiple locations, as required. What We Seek in
Candidates:
Minimum of three years of hands-on phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Proven proficiency in venipuncture, with the ability to draw blood from diverse patient populations confidently. Strong communication skills to explain procedures and build rapport with patients and team members. Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate specimen labeling and data entry. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality. Customer-focused mindset with a professional demeanor that promotes a positive experience for all patients. Physical ability to perform blood draws, including standing for extended periods and handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record are required if travel is involved. Flexible availability to cover various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in phlebotomy is highly preferred; certifications such as CPT, ECA, or equivalent are a plus. Medical assistant training or paramedic background is advantageous. Experience working in a patient service center environment is highly desirable. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and data entry.
Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional medical training or coursework in clinical laboratory procedures enhances candidacy.
