Job Title:
Phlebotomist I Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our team as a Float. The primary role of the phlebotomist is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position involves floating between multiple locations to ensure efficient operation and patient care. Candidate must have a reliable means of transportation. Responsibilities Conduct blood draws and label specimens accurately. Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data. Decontaminate and update patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously. Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles. Understand and adhere to physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store samples at the required temperature. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results. Essential Skills Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma orGED. 0-2
years of experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with specimen collection and processing. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle a high volume of daily draws (80-160). Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mount Laurel, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
