Description
This position is responsible for specimen collection, processing, transport and performing waived and moderate complex laboratory testing in an accurate and timely manner. Technical functions, such as instrument maintenance, calibration and initialing specimen testing will be performed under the supervision of technical staff (MLT, CLS, or Coordinator).
Demonstrates competence as Phlebotomy Technician. Including providing excellent customer service, proper specimen requirements/collection, processing and transport of specimens.
Demonstrates competence and ensures acceptable performance in analyzer functionality, test analysis, quality control, analyzer-calibration, and for reporting test results, including critical values. Knows how t properly take action when results are abnormal or not within the acceptable limits. Reports unresolved issues to MLT/CLS/Coordinator
Documents maintenance and temperatures of refrigerators/freezers and is capable of identifying problems when measures are not within the acceptable range. Able to perform basic troubleshooting to resolve problems/issues identified. Reports unresolved issues to MLT/CLS/Supervisor
Monitors inventory of testing supplies in designated area. Recognizes and provides input for opportunities for improvements in financial performance and productivity
