  • Santa Fe, New Mexico
  • On-site
  • $18-22/hour, based on experience and certification About TribaLights TribaLights is a growing behavioral health and recovery organization in Santa Fe serving adults in substance-use recovery through intensive outpatient treatment, recovery housing, and community support programs.
Our on-site drug testing lab supports client safety and program accountability. You will be joining a mission-driven team where the work directly supports people rebuilding their lives. The Role You will run the day-to-day operation of our drug testing lab: collecting and processing specimens, running tests, keeping meticulous records, and keeping the lab stocked and audit-ready. You report to the Chief Operating Officer for daily operations, with compliance oversight from our Compliance Officer. This is a part-time role (approximately [20-25] hours per week, weekday schedule with some flexibility) with the potential to grow to full-time as our lab volume expands. What You'll Do Collect urine and breathalyzer specimens according to facility protocols, including observed collections, with professionalism and respect for client dignity. Perform testing procedures and record results accurately in our systems. Maintain complete chain-of-custody documentation for every specimen. Keep equipment maintenance and calibration logs current; flag issues immediately. Own supply ordering for the lab (testing supplies and consumables) and the client refill station — inventory counts, orders on a set cadence, and invoices submitted to bookkeeping. Support audit preparation and comply with CLIA requirements and all confidentiality rules (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2). What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required; lab, phlebotomy, medical assistant, or specimen-collection experience preferred. [CLIA-appropriate certification or training — final requirement set by our Compliance Officer; strong candidates without certification but willing to complete training are encouraged to apply.] Meticulous attention to detail — chain of custody and documentation accuracy are the core of this job. Comfort working in a recovery-community environment with firm, respectful professional boundaries. Reliability and discretion; ability to handle confidential information under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Valid driver's license preferred. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Pay & Schedule $18-22 per hour depending on experience and certification, in line with the New Mexico average for laboratory technician roles. Approximately [20-25] hours per week, on-site in Santa Fe. Growth path to full-time as lab volume increases.
