Job Title:
Phlebotomist I (Contract)•
Poughkeepsie, NY Pay:
$20•23/hr
Schedule:
Full-Time | Day Shift +
Rotating Weekend Contract Length:
~4 months (May-September•could be extended based on performance and clients need)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join a busy and fast-paced lab environment in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role requires strong venipuncture skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent patient care across diverse populations. This is a great opportunity for phlebotomists looking to gain experience in a high-volume setting while working consistent daytime hours.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday:
9:00 AM•6:00 PM Every other Saturday or Sunday (Newburgh or Poughkeepsie location)
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or high-volume lab Experience with venipuncture (straight & butterfly needles) Proficiency with Microsoft Office (basic data entry, patient info updates) Valid Phlebotomy Certification ( required in certain states if applicable )
Preferred Skills:
Strong patient interaction skills (in person and phone) Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (blood, urine, etc.) Label, centrifuge, process, and prepare specimens for transport Ensure accuracy of patient and test information Maintain proper specimen storage and handling procedures Follow safety, OSHA, and PPE protocols Communicate clearly with patients to ensure comfort and understanding Assist with basic lab operations and administrative tasks Why Apply?
