Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic RN/Phlebotomist to join our team for PK blood draws, providing vital specimen collection services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role combines the clinical expertise of registered nursing with the technical skill of phlebotomy, ensuring accurate and efficient blood collection for research, diagnostics, or patient care. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Prepare patients for blood collection by explaining procedures clearly and ensuring their comfort. Accurately label, process, and document specimens in compliance with laboratory standards and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all interactions. Monitor patient vital signs and assess their condition before, during, and after blood collection procedures. Assist with specimen processing, storage, and transportation to ensure integrity and timely analysis. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care activities related to blood testing and specimen management. Requirements Valid RN license with current state licensure; additional certification as a phlebotomist is preferred or required. Proven experience in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and capillary sampling techniques. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and medical documentation standards. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate data entry and record keeping. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care. Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
