Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Certification to join our team. In this vital role, you will work closely with the medical provider and owner of the practice. A collaborative, conscienscous, EMR saavy, patient care centered person is needed for this job! Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently to collect blood samples for laboratory testing. Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and medical history documentation. Support clinical staff with procedures related to dermatology, emergency medicine, inpatient care, and outpatient services. Maintain precise medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with documentation standards. Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies including medications and testing materials. Provide patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort during visits. Support medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing ICD coding for diagnoses, and handling medical documentation efficiently. Requirements CNA Certified with valid Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited program. Proven experience in medical office environments with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems and medical records management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding practices. Experience working within hospital medicine settings or urgent care clinics is highly desirable. Ability to perform venipuncture skillfully while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; as is at least 2 years experience in a primary care setting. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
